Representing the Wicklow-East Carlow constituency and MEP Candidate for Ireland South Constituency
Simon Harris a Fine Gael Candidate for the European Parliament in the constituency of Ireland South and is currently a TD for Wicklow and East Carlow. Ireland South includes all Munster counties and four Leinster counties: Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow and Kilkenny.
Bringing new ideas and a fresh vision to politics, Simon is a leading voice on the need for jobs and further economic recovery, particularly outside of Dublin. Simon is widely recognised as a foremost member of the Public Accounts Committee for his role in ensuring that State bodies are accountable for the allocation and spending of taxpayers’ money.
He is also Secretary of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party and Co-Convenor of the Oireachtas Cross Party Group on Mental Health. Simon first became involved in politics through his work as a disability advocate and is committed to providing a strong voice on issues relating to special needs and mental health. Before entering politics, Simon established an autism support and information group.
