Harris meets Wicklow’s Budding Young Scientists

Wicklow Fine Gael TD, Simon Harris, has praised the efforts of Wicklow students following a visit to the BT Young Scientists Exhibition in the RDS. Twenty-four projects from Wicklow were on display at the exhibition, which is expected to have over 40,000 visitors.
Deputy Harris, a previous participant himself, said, “I was astounded by the quality and variety of the projects on show – everything from the best way to feed your heifers, to brain bias and a de-icing windscreen had been carefully analysed and considered.”
“Not only did these students showcase their scientific skills, but also their innovation and creativity. At a time when maths and science skills are increasingly in demand, it is encouraging so many young Wicklow students engaging with these subjects and exploring their own ideas.”
“I would like to commend the dedication and effort of all the students displaying projects at the exhibition, and to wish them the best of luck in the competition. I would also like to thank the many teachers who support these projects, often in their own free time. Their encouragement and guidance is invaluable to students, but too often goes unrecognised.”
