€191,305 awarded to 11 Wicklow childcare settings
Fine Gael Wicklow TD, Simon Harris, has welcomed the announcement by Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Frances Fitzgerald, that 11 Wicklow childcare facilities have been allocated funding for capital works. €6 million in capital funding has been awarded around the country, with Wicklow services set to receive €191,305 in total.
Deputy Harris said, “I am very pleased with Minister Fitzgerald’s announcement of funding, which will address a host of issues facing these facilities, such as remedial, maintenance and renovation work, as well as equipment for early education and childcare services.”
“The competition for these grants was very intense, and I am delighted Wicklow has been well represented in the overall award. The country’s increasingly high birthrate means there is a huge demand for childcare facilities and it important they operate in a safe and secure environment, providing the best care and education from children.”
