“I fully understand the difference early intervention and the appropriate educational supports can make to children with special education needs and their families” – Harris.

Wicklow Fine Gael Deputy, Simon Harris, has said he is continuing to work as an advocate for those with special educational needs in his new role as a TD. Deputy Harris said, “Working in the Dáil, I have asked a number of Parliamentary Questions highlighting some of the relevant issues. I am eager to meet with, and to work with on an on-going basis, connected with this area.

“The Minister for Education must instruct his Department to engage fully with schools and parents to ensure that despite financial difficulties children with special needs receive the education and support they are entitled to, require, and deserve.”
